“We are honored to be recognized for this important achievement,” said Chris Lucier, vice president of enrollment management at the University of Delaware. “In today’s competitive market, it is more important than ever to find ways to make a quality UD education affordable to families, while continuing to bring in the best and brightest students.”
A new financial aid leveraging system designed to maximize the impact of financial aid awards on enrollment, along with two new first-year admissions programs to diversify its means of enrolling students helped the University increase selectivity and exceed enrollment targets over the past two years while holding the discount rate steady.
Specifically, over the past two years, yield has increased by 3 percentage points and the average SAT score has increased by 37 points (on a 2400 point scale).
The fall 2014 class was the largest and most diverse class in the University’s history, and the fall 2015 enrollment is projected to be above goal as well.
UD expects to continue its current efforts, including strategic search and financial aid leveraging, to support its enrollment goals for the class entering in the fall of 2016.
Institutions were nominated for the awards by Ruffalo Noel Levitz consultants and were selected based on several factors including institutional outcomes and execution of strategies that promote student awareness, inquiry, application, admission, deposit and enrollment.
