Proposals sought for Winter Session 2016 co-curricular programs

5:01 p.m., July 30, 2015--The University of Delaware's Office of the Provost and Division of Student Life are inviting proposals from academic units, administrative and student life departments, and registered student organizations for innovative projects that enhance the Winter Session experience. 

Programs should further learning and foster a more diverse and stimulating educational and social environment for undergraduate students who enroll in Winter Session.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

Project awards will be in increments of $1,000 to $10,000, and priority will be given to creative, high-impact undergraduate programs. Examples of possible Winter Session programs include arts festivals, compelling public speakers, conferences, workshops and community engagement activities.  

Project proposals must be for Winter Session 2016 and should be submitted as a single PDF to Laura Gleason, assistant to the vice president for student life, at lgleason@udel.edu, no later than Sept. 25.

Proposals must not exceed three typed pages and must include the following:

• description of the program including intended audience, size and location;

• how the project will further student learning and foster a more diverse and stimulating educational and/or social environment during Winter Session;

• estimated budget identifying  fees and production costs, including identification of funds and in-kind subsidy from any departments, colleges or student organizations; and

• plans for assessment and evaluation.

Award recipients will be required to submit a one-page summary of the results of the project, including the number of students who participated and a summary of their feedback.

Proposals will be reviewed by a committee comprised of faculty, administrators and students.  Decisions will be announced by Oct. 9.

Funding through a Unidel grant is available for Winter Sessions 2016 and 2017 and was available for Winter Session 2015. Proposals and awards in 2016 and 2017 may be for new undergraduate programming or for the continuation of undergraduate programming funded for Winter Session 2015.
