Feb. 22: African American Read-In
English department to host African American Read-In at Memorial Hall
8:24 a.m., Feb. 18, 2016--The University of Delaware Department of English will host an African American Read-In beginning at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, in the third floor lounge in Memorial Hall.
The read-in will be held in celebration of Black History Month.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K
University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.
June 6-9: Food and culture series
The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.
All UD students, faculty, and staff are invited to bring a passage or a poem by an African American author to read during the event.

Begun in 1990, the African American Read-In is a national event sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English. Over a million readers participate in the read-in every year.
