IFSA annual conference to focus on disruptive innovations in financial services

8:28 a.m., Feb. 8, 2016--Disruptive innovations in financial services will be the subject of the 2016 annual conference of the Institute for Financial Services Analytics (IFSA) at the University of Delaware.

On Thursday, March 3, prestigious experts will visit UD to discuss many facets of this hot topic, with presentations on subjects like investing in global innovation, online lending in China and the impact of new innovations like Bitcoin and Blockchain.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Conference speakers will include:

  • Yihan Fang, CEO of Yirendai;
  • Reena Aggarwal, Robert E. McDonough Professor of Business Administration, professor of finance and director of the Center for Financial Markets and Policy at Georgetown University;
  • George Samuel Samman, former CMO of Fuzo, committee chair of the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (WSBA); and
  • Brian Smyth, CTO, Emerging Payments, Chase Consumer Bank, JPMorgan Chase.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to noon in the Gore Recital Hall of UD’s Roselle Center for the Arts, 110 Orchard Road.

Register online. The registration fee of $20 includes conference admission, continental breakfast and lunch.
