8:12 a.m., Feb. 9, 2016--The Center for Global and Area Studies (CGAS) is accepting proposals from full-time University of Delaware faculty members for grants of up to $5,000 to support international research. The application deadline is March 11.

Funds awarded through the competitive program may be used for travel, research costs and other direct expenses, not including salaries or stipends. Teams may apply for a joint award with the same $5,000 limit.

Global Stories

Fulbright awards

Three University of Delaware students and an alumna have received word this spring that they will travel abroad as part of the newest class of Fulbright Student Program award winners.

Peace Corps plans

Two University of Delaware students, John McCarron and Bridgette Spritz, have been selected as Peace Corps volunteers and will serve in Ghana and Rwanda.

Preference in awarding the grants will be given to faculty members who have not received CGAS awards in the past three years and whose scholarship contributes to the Area Studies program.

Grant recipients may be asked to present their research findings as part of the Issues in Global Studies (ARSC300) public lecture series.

For more information about the application requirements and process, and a list of previous recipients, see the website.
