UD to kick of 2014 United Way campaign Oct. 20

4:04 p.m., Oct. 13, 2014--The University of Delaware will kick off its 2014 United Way of Delaware campaign on Oct. 20. 

Lynn Okagaki, dean of the College of Education and Human Development, is chairing this year's employee campaign, which runs through Dec. 5. The campaign goal is $150,000.

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

"Your support will help provide needed community services on a year-round basis," Okagaki said. "Your contribution can make a real difference for children, seniors, veterans and people struggling with life-threatening illnesses."

The United Way of Delaware is the largest fundraising organization in the state, with over 65 years of experience providing high quality direct community impact work and expertise in identifying high-need community issues. It supports more than 100 agencies with such key goals as helping children and youth achieve their potential, promoting financial stability and independence and improving health.
