Opportunities for student conservation advocates topic of Green Liaisons lecture
8:25 a.m., Nov. 17, 2014--All Green Liaisons at the University of Delaware are invited to the second Green Liaisons Sustainability Lecture for the fall semester, featuring Takeya Meggett, a student recruiting coordinator from the Student Conservation Association (SCA) representing the Great Lakes region.
The lecture will be held from noon-1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, in the Collins Room of the Perkins Student Center.

The SCA is a national nonprofit organization offering individuals numerous opportunities to do meaningful and rewarding work with more than 50 different agency partners, including the National Park Service.
The SCA also focuses on creating career paths for its members so that they have the skills, education and training needed to enter today's workforce.

More about Takeya Meggett
Meggett, hailing from New Jersey, is an SCA recruiter and alumna who has benefited greatly from the association’s programming.
With a background in marine science, Meggett had an opportunity to work with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in the Fisheries Unit, gaining practical experience in her field of study.
She has also led high school trail crews, worked on a leader crew in Nevada, interned at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, and worked with SCA's National Park Service Academy in Alaska.

Once a month, Green Liaisons are invited to attend a lunchtime presentation on the small steps that can be implemented by every student, faculty and staff member in order to make UD a greener place to learn, work and live.
All lunches in the Green Liaisons Sustainability Lecture Series are open to Green Liaisons and are usually held from noon-1 p.m. Members are encouraged to bring their own lunches if they want to. Topics and locations change monthly. Drinks and dessert are provided.
