Senior Alexis DeFrancesco killed in car accident
10:20 a.m., Nov. 24, 2014--Alexis DeFrancesco, a University of Delaware senior, was killed in the early morning of Sunday, Nov. 23, after a car in which she was a passenger was struck by another vehicle that failed to stop at a redlight on U.S. Route 40.
Ms. DeFrancesco, 22, from Hartly, Delaware, was a fashion merchandising major scheduled to graduate at the end of the fall semester.

"On behalf of the entire University of Delaware community, we extend our deepest sympathies to Ms. DeFrancesco's family and friends," said José-Luis Riera, dean of students at UD. "We are all truly saddened by this tragic accident."
