Law enforcement officials to carry Special Olympics torch along Main Street

2:32 p.m., June 10, 2015--State law enforcement representatives will carry the Special Olympics Delaware Summer Games torch along Main Street in Newark on Friday afternoon, June 12, and members of the University of Delaware community are invited to cheer them on.

The torch will be leaving the Newark Shopping Center at 12:45 p.m. and will be carried west on Main Street to South College Avenue, and then on to the University’s Bob Carpenter Center.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The Summer Games will be held Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13, at the UD Athletics Complex.
