UD presidential search website updated, welcome letter added

2:16 p.m., June 24, 2015--The University of Delaware presidential search website has been updated and a letter from search chairs Terri Kelly and Don Puglisi of the Board of Trustees has been added.

The website now includes an updated presidential position profile as well as a PowerPoint summary of comments and thoughts from recent focus groups about the next president and the future of the University.

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

The position profile includes a list of goals for the new president articulated by members of the Presidential Search Committee. It is based, in large part, on comments from focus groups and open forums.

In the letter, Kelly and Puglisi write that the committee is “committed to having an open and inclusive search process” and note that the website includes a section in which people can share their thoughts on the qualities the new president should have and also nominate individuals they would like the committee to consider.
