Institute for Global Studies announces Fulbright interest meeting in Gore Hall

7:46 a.m., July 29, 2014--The University of Delaware Institute for Global Studies (IGS) invites students to attend a Fulbright Scholars Program interest meeting beginning at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, in 114 Gore Hall.

The interest meeting will provide information about Fulbright opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. More information can be found by visiting the Fulbright website.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The Fulbright ProgramĀ is the largest U.S. exchange program and offers opportunities for advanced research, international graduate study, university teaching, and primary and secondary school teaching worldwide to students and young professionals.

The flagship international educational exchange program is designed to "increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries."

Administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, the program awards approximately 8,000 grants annually.
