Experts to visit UD for seminars on wines from around the world
2:28 p.m., April 20, 2015--The University of Delaware community is invited to taste wines from around the world without leaving Newark at the Wine Education Seminar Series.
The Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) in UD’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics will host the seminars in the Wine Education Classroom at the HRIM department’s student-run restaurant, Vita Nova, in partnership with Southern Wine and Spirits.

Dean Bruce Weber of the Lerner College called the Wine Education Seminar Series “part of the HRIM department’s initiative to prepare future leaders in the hospitality industry.”
Each seminar will feature wines from a distinct area of the globe, including:
- Monday, April 27 – European wines
- Monday, May 11 – Wines from North America, including California, Washington, Oregon, New York and Canada
- Monday, May 18 – Wines from the New World, including Australia, New Zealand and South America
Leading the seminars in exploring the world of wine education will be Paul Rizzo and Michelle Souza of Southern Wine and Spirits, both of whom are wine industry experts and UD alumni.

Each seminar runs from 6-9 p.m. in Vita Nova’s Wine Education Classroom at 208 Trabant University Center. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to register.
