Global Stories

Fulbright awards

Three University of Delaware students and an alumna have received word this spring that they will travel abroad as part of the newest class of Fulbright Student Program award winners.

Peace Corps plans

Two University of Delaware students, John McCarron and Bridgette Spritz, have been selected as Peace Corps volunteers and will serve in Ghana and Rwanda.

Mandla Makhanya, UNISA professor and vice chancellor, will open the program with a brief history and discussion of the modern-day role of a university that is “proudly African in the service of humanity.”

Participants will hear from three UD faculty members who are putting online learning into practice in their classrooms before engaging in discussion and activities to further their own potential efforts.

Makhanya and key University members will be on hand to offer insight and assistance.

Those who plan to attend are encouraged to register now for this limited-space event.

The event, part of the UD South Africa Month Celebration, is co-sponsored by the Institute for Global Studies, Academic Technology Services, Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning and Professional and Continuing Studies.
