SCPAB to present annual Senior Fling featuring musical duo MKTO

10:16 a.m., April 27, 2015--The University of Delaware Student Centers Programming Advisory Board (SCPAB), a registered student organization, and the University Student Centers will present the annual Senior Fling event from 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 15, on the North Green.

This year’s Senior Fling consists of a 26-foot hard rock wall, human foosball, a rock slide, unlimited wax hands, 100 street signs, a photo booth, Lester and Body Art by Susan, food, and a concert featuring the musical duo MKTO with opener Vinyl Theatre. The event is free and open to all UD students.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Senior Fling is held to celebrate graduating seniors, and they are encouraged to register for a chance to win a variety of prizes. The prizes being given out include the following: 

  • $500 gift cards to Amazon, Target, Ticketmaster, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Barnes and Noble;
  • iPad Mini 3;
  • 32-inch Vizio TV; 
  • Beats by Dr. Dre Solo  headphones; 
  • Fujifilm Instax 210 instant photo camera with film; and
  • Donations from local businesses.

Only seniors can register to win prizes. Winners will be announced at the event and must be present to claim their prize. Seniors can register to win by joining the alumni community through this link.

The concert will be running from approximately 5-7 p.m.

The rain location for Senior Fling is the Trabant University Center with the concert to be held in the Multipurpose Rooms.

The event is co-sponsored by Hola, Haven, the Cultural Programming Advisory Board, University Student Centers, Student Government Association, UD Alumni Association and the Senior Class Gift Council.

MKTO is a musical duo made up of Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller. The duo met in 2010 and released their first single, Thank You, in January 2013.  They are best known for their second single, Classic, which was released in June 2013 and reached number 18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. MKTO has served as an opener on tour for Emblem3 and Demi Lovato.

Vinyl Theatre is an alternative band made up of Chris Senner, Nick Cesarz, Keegan Calmes, and Josh Pothier. Their album Electrogram is out now.
