Taste of Newark guests can enjoy the culinary delights of more than 50 Newark restaurants accompanied by the finest area wine distributors.
A special guest will be executive chef David Puser, who has worked as a chef in Switzerland since 1989 and has served for more than a decade as the executive chef of the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality.
Puser, who is making a return visit to Taste of Newark, began his lifelong fascination with cooking after his first job as a busboy in his native California. He has cooked and traveled widely and spent four years in the Coast Guard aboard an ice-breaker before earning enough tuition to fund his studies at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.
Taste of Newark will feature more than 50 restaurants, 30 wineries, celebrity cooking demonstrations and an Iron Chef-style battle of the chefs.
Competing this year will be Anthony Carnevale II from 16 Mile Taphouse, Jeovany Valle from Caffe Gelato, Mark Chopko from Courtyard Newark, Donny Merrill Jr. from Skipjack, and Jeff Matyger from Taverna Rustic Italian.
