10:08 a.m., Sept. 9, 2013--The Blue Hen Leadership Program (BHLP) has a new home at the University of Delaware in the form of renovated space on the lower level of the Trabant University Center.

Trabant 157A, the former location of the Trabant Copy Center beneath Daugherty Hall, has been transformed into a bright space containing two staff offices, one conference room, a student assistant work area and a large indoor reception space, as well as an outdoor courtyard.

Campus Stories

From graduates, faculty

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

The grand opening of the Student Leadership Center will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, starting at 5 p.m. in Trabant Theatre.

The event will feature keynote speaker Corey Ciocchetti, who will present “Chasing Authentic Success,” and will continue in Trabant 157A with a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception. All members of the UD community are welcome and are encouraged to attend, and can RSVP at this link.

The BHLP is the University’s three-tiered student leadership certification program, coordinated through the Leadership Development office of the University Student Centers.

Enrollment in BHLP has grown exponentially in recent years, with 459 students participating at various levels throughout 2012-13.

The new center will promote continued growth of the program and provide programming space as well as project work areas for BHLP students.

The reception area will be staffed by six BHLP participants, who will facilitate multiple interest sessions throughout the semester and assist with various programs.
