April 26-27: Relay for Life

Relay for Life at UD to be held at Newark High School

10:30 a.m., Feb. 26, 2014--Relay for Life at the University of Delaware has announced that the 2014 event, organized in association with the American Cancer Society, will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, at Newark High School.

Members of the campus community are invited to register teams at the ACS Relay for Life website.

Feb. 26: BHLP hosts Ehrlich

Former congressman and Maryland governor Robert Ehrlich will be the featured speaker at the Blue Hen Leadership Program kickoff on Feb. 26.

Feb. 26: African American experience

William Jelani Cobb of the University of Connecticut will present a Black History Month lecture titled "Struggles for Black Freedom in the 21st Century" at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.

There also will be opportunities to register at campus dining halls.

Relay for Life, which will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, is a community-based event in which participants come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and raise funds to battle the disease.

Teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Events last 24 hours and teams are asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.
