Relay for Life at UD to be held at Newark High School

10:30 a.m., Feb. 26, 2014--Relay for Life at the University of Delaware has announced that the 2014 event, organized in association with the American Cancer Society, will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, at Newark High School.

Members of the campus community are invited to register teams at the ACS Relay for Life website.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

There also will be opportunities to register at campus dining halls.

Relay for Life, which will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, is a community-based event in which participants come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and raise funds to battle the disease.

Teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Events last 24 hours and teams are asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.
