Senior Class Gift Council sets special 14 on The Green event

12:08 p.m., April 24, 2014--The University of Delaware Senior Class Gift Council will hold a special 14 on The Green event from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, April 28.

The event will promote the Class of 2014’s senior class gift campaign, with the focal point being the creation of a “14” on The Green made up of yellow yard flags.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Senior Cedric Steenberghs developed the 14 on The Green concept.

There will be music featuring a DJ, a cotton candy vendor and tables at which seniors can partake in UD philanthropy trivia and enter to win an iPad.

In addition to trivia, seniors visiting each of the tables will be given the opportunity to make their class gift. Any size gift, which can be directed to 2,200 different campus-wide initiatives, is welcome. 

Many seniors have decided to donate $20.14 in honor of their graduating year, according to an Office of Development and Alumni Relations representative.
