Alumni Weekend volunteers

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking the assistance of UD employees during Alumni Weekend, which will take place June 5-7.

Housing application changes

In order to manage the occupancy of University of Delaware housing so that all second-year students who wish to live on campus for 2016-17 have the greatest opportunity to do so, the housing application process for returning and upper-division students will change significantly beginning in September 2015.

An unconference is a collaborative meeting with an open agenda: participants propose topics, vote on the topics to be discussed during the event’s breakout sessions, then lead and contribute to the discussions.

Topics proposed so far for the Jan. 23 unconference include:

  • New NTFS Windows domain file service;
  • Office 2013 and Office 365;
  • Canvas (learning management system);
  • Cloud usage guidelines;
  • Google Analytics;
  • Checking systems for PII (Personally Identifiable Information);
  • Authentication/certificates;
  • Making maps on the web;
  • Tablets, iPads and mobile devices, e.g. Surface overview, Android Jelly Bean;
  • UD licensed software;
  • Evernote; and
  • Windows 8.

Those with interest can visit the third UD IT UnConference website, which also provides additional information about the unconference format.

Those who are interested in attending can nominate and vote on discussion topics ahead of time, or nominate and vote for topics at the event itself.
