Feb. 10, 17: 'Make the World Dance'
Dance workshops and showcase scheduled in February
5:30 p.m., Feb. 7, 2013--"Make the World Dance" will be the theme of two events on the University of Delaware Newark campus this month, sponsored by the National Honor Society of Dance Arts (NHSDA), an honor society for dancers at UD.
On Sunday, Feb. 10, dance workshops will be held from noon-6 p.m. in Multipurpose Room C of the Trabant University Center. The workshops will be taught by members of various registered student organizations on campus, and there will be a master class with guest artist Jenn Rose. From 4-6 p.m., Rose will be teaching both a workshop and choreography to be performed at a dance showcase on Feb. 17.

At 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17, the "Make the World Dance" showcase will be presented in Mitchell Hall. Various dance groups at UD will perform pieces in their own styles, and the event will conclude with the piece choreographed by Rose, bringing together dancers from all styles and groups who attended the workshop the previous weekend.
Both events are free. This project received funding from the President's Diversity Initiative as part of the Student Diversity Initiative.

About Jenn Rose
A choreographer and teaching artist, Rose is based in the Philadelphia area.
Her work has received three Barrymore nominations, funding from the Joyce Theatre, two Broadway World Philadelphia awards, and rave reviews for her successful collaborations on the original works Around the Corner, Untitled Project 213 and Your AtTENtion Please!
She is currently teaching contemporary, tap, and theatre dance classes to students of all ages. Her most recent project is Christmas Dreams, an 80-minute feature dance film.
