VCU's Clark to speak in Distinguished Artist Lecture Series
12:32 p.m., Feb. 25, 2013--Artist Sonya Clark of Virginia Commonwealth University will be the next speaker in the University of Delaware’s Distinguished Artist Lecture Series with a presentation at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, in 130 Smith Hall.
Woven of found materials, the work of this contemporary fiber artist is intertwined with an accumulated history that speaks to cultural heritage, racial identity and gender politics.

Clark is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Fellowship and is chair of the Department of Craft and Materials Studies at VCU.
She delivered the annual Paul R. Jones Lecture on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts in Wilmington.
The Distinguished Artist Lecture Series is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences’ Paul R. Jones Initiative, the President's Diversity Initiative, University Museums and the Department of Art.
