Autism Delaware scholarships
UD students eligible for Autism Delaware scholarships, stipends
9:50 a.m., Feb. 20, 2013--Autism Delaware has announced that the deadline to apply for the agency’s scholarships, stipends and grants – including several open to University of Delaware undergraduate and graduate students -- has been extended to March 8. The applications are available online.
The scholarships and stipends include the Autism Delaware Daniel and Lois Gray Memorial Scholarship, which is available to an eligible UD undergraduate or graduate student working toward a professional position in the autism community; the Autism Delaware Adult with Autism Scholarship, which supports an adult with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who wants to attend college or some other post-secondary educational program; and the Autism Delaware Para-to-Educator Stipend, which is available to an eligible paraprofessional who, in the past year, completed his or her education to become a teacher of children with ASDs.

“These scholarships and stipends support deserving individuals who are developing and honing their skills in the autism field,” said Teresa Avery, executive director at Autism Delaware. “Our goal in offering this financial support is to acknowledge the unique expertise these individuals bring to the autism community and to let them know how much we value them.”
