Department of Materials Science and Engineering announces upcoming April lectures

6:58 p.m., April 4, 2013--The University of Delaware Department of Materials Science and Engineering has announced April invited speakers for its spring lecture series. 

The lectures will occur at 10 a.m., Wednesdays, in 219 Brown Lab.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Two lectures are scheduled this month: 

April 10: Theresa Mayer, associate director of the Penn State University Materials Research Institute, University Park, "Adding New Capabilities to Silicon CMOS Via Deterministic Assembly," and

April 24: Garnett Bryant, adjunct professor at the Joint Quantum Institute and a partner at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, Md., “Controlling Quantum Dots.”
