Campus community invited to attend Kente Stole Ceremony May 24

11:12 a.m., April 15, 2013--The University of Delaware campus community is invited to attend the annual Kente Stole Ceremony, sponsored by UD’s Center for Black Culture, at 7 p.m., Friday, May 24, at Clayton Hall.

The event will celebrate the accomplishments of members of the Class of 2013 and their families.

Honors Stories

Pioneering work cited

A special symposium honoring the University of Delaware's C.P. Huang, a pioneer in aquatic chemistry, was held during the 248th American Chemical Society national meeting.

Governor's arts awards

Violinist Xiang Gao, Trustees Distinguished Professor of Music, has won a 2014 Delaware Governor's Award for the Arts.

The Kente Stoles, which are worn as an acknowledgement of one’s African ancestry, symbolize accomplishment, community, unity and pride.

A light reception at 6 will precede the event.
