University's WVUD-FM 91.3 gets major power boost
2:46 p.m., Sept. 14, 2011--With a new transmitter, tower and antenna, radio station WVUD-FM 91.3, "the Voice of the University of Delaware," has boosted its power from 1,000 to 6,800 watts.
The final phase of the multi-year project, which included other infrastructure improvements, will soon give WVUD-FM and its The Basement online radio HD radio capability.

Station manager Steve Kramarck said that the UD students, staff and community members who operate WVUD-FM are excited about widening the station’s coverage area.
“We are grateful to UD, the Division of Student Life, University Student Centers, WVUD students and volunteers past and present, and to our listening public for combining to make this project possible,” Kramarck said. “Special thanks also go to David Mackenzie, WVUD chief engineer, who worked many hours and showed incredible perseverance in the planning and completion of this multi-year project.”
