Cathy Wu, Edward G. Jefferson Chair of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, credited Shinn for her expert assistance and patience throughout a hiring process that included advertising, setting up and updating the faculty search website and web forms.
“Chrissy’s work has contributed to the successful recruitment of two new faculty members,” Wu said. “Faculty in the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology will appreciate the positive impact that will be made by these new faculty hires.”
Susan Phipps, administrative assistant in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, also lauded Shinn’s efforts and expertise in the center’s faculty search process.
“Chrissy was my ‘single point’ of contact whenever there were questions or concerns. What answers she didn’t have, she went out of her way to find,” Phipps said. “In spite of the many challenges, she continues to provide friendly, personable, yet always professional service to me and the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.”
A six-year UD employee and Human Resources coordinator for nearly two years, Shinn said she was “pleasantly surprised to be named liaison of the quarter.
“I enjoy working with my colleagues across the College of Engineering as well as my contacts in the Office of Human Resources,” Shinn said. “I continue to learn and grow with their guidance and input.”
