Blue Hen Leadership Program offers Thursday workshop series

5:19 p.m., Jan. 10, 2012--The Blue Hen Leadership Program (BHLP) will offer a three-part series this winter on Leadership and Pop Culture. 

The program looks at leadership with a fun and creative twist. Workshops will be held in the Trabant University Center on Thursdays from 4:30–6:40 p.m., beginning on Jan. 12. Pizza will be provided.

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Here is the full schedule:

Jan. 12: “The Leadership of Lost” will look at the situational leadership model. The workshop will incorporate clips from Lost, one of the most successful dramatic television series in history.

Jan. 19: “The Leadership Challenge Is So Fetch” takes a look at the movie Mean Girls to analyze the leadership behind mean girls.

Jan. 26: “Values and The Social Network” will use the Academy Award-winning film The Social Network about the creation of Facebook to teach value-based leadership.
