Videoconference on NLM federal grant-funding opportunities set
10:53 a.m., April 18, 2011--As part of its research support efforts, University of Delaware Information Technologies is holding a federal grant-funding workshop on Wednesday, April 27. The interactive videoconference, The National Library of Medicine (NLM/NIH): Biomedical Informatics Grant Programs, will be held in Room 324 Willard Hall Education Building from 2–3 p.m.
Faculty, staff and students at UD and Delaware State University are invited to attend the free videoconference. Registration is required through the weblinks below.

Valerie Florance, associate director for extramural programs, National Library of Medicine, will discuss the basic types of grants and program priorities for grants offered by the National Library of Medicine.
NLM has a long history of funding research and training in biomedical informatics. Examples of recent awards will be presented, along with general guidelines about the grant process.
NLM's Extramural Programs awards grants for training, research and development. The biomedical informatics grants encompass application areas such as health care, public health administration, the computational support of biological research, the translation of research findings to practice, and the use of information by the public.
