Tuition charges for teachers who wish to earn three academic credits are as follows:
- For Delaware public school teachers, there is no tuition charge, although they must pay a total of $40 in general and registration fees.
- For Delaware residents who teach in private schools, the tuition charge for three credits is $1,052 plus $40 in general and registration fees.
- For out-of-state teachers, the tuition charge is $2,571 for three credits plus $40 in general and registration fees.
For
teachers interested in earning graduate credit (for Summer Institutes prior to 2006):
It is possible to earn one graduate credit for participating in
each of the workshops planned for Spring 2003 and afterwards(to
a maximum of six) through the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies(MALS)Program.
Those who chose this option are required to complete a short final
paper or project in addition to the other requirements of the workshops.
To earn these credits, teachers must be admitted to the MALS Program,
although it is possible to earn them while still in the application
stage. Delaware teachers planning to earn the credit must pay the
current tuition rate of $351.00 per credit; teachers who are not
Delaware residents are charged $889.00 per credit.
It is also possible to earn three graduate credits for participating
in the summer institutes (to a maximum of six credits) through the
Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) Program. Those who choose
this option are required to write a paper in addition to the other
requirements of the institutes. To earn these credits, teachers
must be admitted to the MALS Program, although it is possible to
earn them while still in the application stage. Delaware teachers
planning to earn the credit must pay the current tuition of $351.00
per credit; teachers who are not Delaware residents are charged $889.00
per credit.
About the MALS program:
MALS offers graduate interdisciplinary courses for adults who wish
to earn a masters degree part-time. All MALS courses are scheduled
on Monday through Thursday evenings and during summer sessions at
times convenient for adults who work during the day.
