Faculty Senate Honors and Awards Committee

March 20, 2009

Minutes taken by James Magee:

1.      Approved minutes from March 13 meeting.

2.      Future meeting dates:

    * April 17 (NOTE: 8:30-10:00 a.m.)

    * May 15

3.      The committee members met to select from the list of finalists the 2009 recipients of the awards for Excellence in Teaching (Faculty), Excellence in Undergraduate Advising, and Excellence in Graduate Student Teaching. 

4.      The recipients chosen by the committee are the following (as a finalist for the Excellence in Graduate Teaching, committee member Meghan Schulz did not participate in selecting the recipient of this award): 

 

A.    Excellence in Teaching

5.      New Business:

a.       The next order of business will be to select the 2009 recipient of the University’s Alison award. The dossiers form the deans have been received and are stored in the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.  Vice President Gilbert explained that a small office in Hullihen Hall will be set aside for members of this committee to read the dossiers before the April 17 meeting.
