Basics of Sakai@UD

Although those with instructor or organizer role can choose from a variety of Sakai tools, certain basic principles apply universally. The documents provided here cover general instructions for using the features of Sakai as well as terminology.

Courses set as independent study cannot be created as course sites in Sakai and will not be listed in Worksite setup > New. We recommend for those courses to create Sakai Project sites and add students manually. Contact us to discuss additional option.

courses-pdfCourse sites are designed for use with academic courses. An instructor who is listed in UDSIS can create a course site and associate it with the official roster. Each semester registered students will have access to published Sakai@UD course sites on the first day of classes.

projects-pdfProject sites can be created by UD faculty and staff to provide an online working environment for groups. Organizers of these sites are authorized to add participants or can make the project site joinable by anyone who has access to Sakai@UD.
