Our Mission

To advocate for an equitable and inclusive work and learning environment by monitoring, coordinating, and overseeing the University's diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Introduction | Overview

The Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) provides opportunities, programs, and support services under four broad function areas: Affirmative Action, Campus Diversity, LGBT Community Issues, and Women's Affairs. We truly believe that diversity is an important guiding principle and that equity, inclusion and fairness are cornerstone values at the University of Delaware. We infuse these core values into all aspects of our programs and services.

The Office of Equity and Inclusion serves the campus in two primary roles. OEI provides leadership, resources, and services for the enhancement of diversity programs campus-wide, and fulfills an important compliance function by working with various legal mandates set out by state and federal law, and University policies as they relate to civil rights, equal employment and affirmative action.
