Transforming Undergraduate Education:
Promises, Benefits, and Limitations
With this symposium, we seek to regather ITUE Fellows for an indepth
consideration of the driving forces behind ITUE's efforts since its
creation in April 1997. We are organizing sessions on problem-based
learning, integration of written and oral communication, effective
use of technology, and design/redesign of undergraduate curriculum.
The symposium will be anchored by prominent leaders in these efforts.

In this symposium, we bring together experts in student engagement and assessment of learning, invited to present on a wide range of topics. Plenary sessions include "Writing for Student Engagement", "Engaging Students through Emerging Technologies", "Engaging Students: Influence on Student Learning", and "Engagement through Collaboration and Assessment".
