15 September Career Planning and Placement, Industrial Recruitment, Getting personal references. "Get a Job" assignment due 29 September. Presentation by Dave Berilla, Career Services

WEB Site evaluation assignment due.

22 September Graduate School or Professional School or neither? Presentation by Dr. Charles Riordan, Chair of the Department's Teaching Assistant and Fellowship Committee.
29 September Report on job hunt. Being connected with the profession: Meetings, memberships, subscriptions.  Job assignment due.
6 October Ethical Issues Case study, "Organic Reactions," and list of Scientific Ideals provided. Outline (concept map) for planned web- site due.
13 October Principles of effective oral communication. Group exercise. Dr. Steven Brown, department chair, will pinch hit for Dr. White who will be out of town. 
20 October Principles of effective visual communication. Critique of examples. Assignment of Seminar Presentation Schedules. Resources provided
27 October Discussion of the nature and importance of evaluation. Team WEB sites need to be activated by Oct. 27.
