Our Admissions Process

Undergraduate

Admission to the Department of Art and Design as an undergraduate student is a two-part process.

  1. Students must complete the common application to the University and
  2. submit an application to the department.

The application to the department consists of

  • a digital portfolio of art work and
  • a written essay

which are then both uploaded to the UD/ART Digital Portfolio website and evaluated by the Art and Design Department Admissions Committee.

Accepted students enter the department into the Bachelor of Arts in Art (BA) degree. Upon completion of the Foundation requirements, students may apply to one of our two Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree program or select to continue in the BA degree.

Graduate

Admission to the Department of Art and Design as an MFA student is a two-part process.

  1. Students must complete the graduate application through the Office of Graduate Studies.
  2. Submit a portfolio to the department utilizing Slide Room, udart.slideroom.com which will be evaluated by the Graduate Faculty.
  3. Application deadline is February 15th.
