University of Delaware International Travel Assistance Program
As an on going commitment to the safety of University students, employees and agents, the University of Delaware has contracted with International SOS to provide emergency travel assistance and evacuation services to all University students, employees and agents traveling outside the United States on University business.
By logging on to the University of Delaware SOS Portal, covered individuals can access travel health and safety reports, travel advice, and even create their own travel emergency record.
University of Delaware International SOS Portal
Specific SOS membership services for UD students, employees and agents detailed in the above Portal, include but are not limited to, emergency evacuation and repatriation, medical and personal assistance (for example legal referrals and translation services), and online services. Note that SOS is not a health insurance provider and that no health insurance coverage is included among SOS's services. Therefore, all Univeristy travelers are encouraged to investigate their own health insurance options.

University of Delaware Travel Accident Insurance
The University of Delaware carries travel accident insurance which provides accidental death and dismemberment (ADD) benefits for covered individuals while traveling on University business. In addition to the ADD benefits this policy also provides worldwide travel assistance services while the insured individual is traveling on University business at least 100 miles from home. This program provides 24 hour toll free emergency services to aid the traveler to access emergency assistance.
Travel Accident Insurance - Details
This policy provides accidental death and dismemberment (ADD) benefits for covered individuals while traveling on University business. The Principle Amount of insurance for covered individuals is as follows:
Full time students: $1,000
This insurance will pay the full Principle Amount in the event of accidental death or a major dismemberment, which would include the loss of both hands, both feet, the sight in both eyes or an injury resulting in quadriplegia. The loss on one hand, one foot, one eye or an injury resulting in paraplegia or hemiplegia would provide benefits between three-quarters and one half the insured's Principle Amount, depending upon the severity of the injuries. Lesser injuries as defined within the policy would provide benefits or twenty-five percent of the insured's Principle Amount.
In addition to the ADD benefits this policy also provides worldwide travel assistance services while the insured individual is traveling on University business at least 100 miles from home.
