UD women’s basketball falls to Georgia State
UD senior Kyle DeHaven had 14 points in the loss to Georgia State.
8:08 a.m., Feb. 29, 2008--The University of Delaware women's basketball team shot just 21.8 percent from the field and fell 58-46 to Georgia State University in a Colonial Athletic Association game played Thursday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.

With the loss, the Fightin' Blue Hens fell to 7-21 overall and 6-10 in the CAA.

“It just comes down to this--we missed a lot of open shots,” UD Head Coach Tina Martin said. “I don't really understand why but maybe it has something to do with our youth.”

Senior guard Kyle DeHaven had 14 points, eight steals and four assists to lead the Blue Hens. Freshman forward Ariene Jenkins had 10 rebounds and freshman guards Vanessa Kabongo and Gracie Palucis had nine points each.

UD has just two regular season games remaining, both conference games and both on the road. The Blue Hens will play at Virginia Commonwealth University at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 2, and conclude at Towson University at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 6.

The CAA championship tournament will be held at the Bob Carpenter Center beginning March 13, with the final game on March 16.
