Muth, Sloan, Flego win regional lacrosse honors

7:59 a.m., May 31, 2007--Three University of Delaware women's lacrosse players have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Mid-Atlantic Region teams. Senior Katie Muth was named to the first team, while sophomore Debbie Sloan and freshman Nicole Flego were selected to the second team.

Muth, a midfielder from Ellicott City, Md., scored a team-high 37 goals and also had 13 assists. Sloan, a sophomore from Thornton, Pa., tied for second on the team with 36 goals. Flego, of Doylestown, Pa., also had 36 goals and added 22 assists, becoming only the second freshman in UD history to be named to the All-Region team. She also was the first player in school history to be named to the Colonial Athletic Association first team and the conference all-rookie team in the same season.

UD finished the season 11-6 and reached the CAA championship tournament, where the Hens fell in the semifinals.
