UD women's lacrosse defeats Virginia Tech
UD freshman Courtney Aburn had four goals and two assists in the victory over Virginia Tech.
8:49 a.m., March 28, 2007--The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team has now won three straight games following a 16-7 victory over Virginia Tech on Tuesday afternoon at Rullo Stadium.

The Fightin' Blue Hens, who took a 10-2 lead into halftime, are now 4-3 on the season. They will return to action with a Colonial Athletic Association game against Towson University at noon, Sunday, April 1, at Rullo Stadium.

Freshman Courtney Aburn and junior Casey McCrudden had four goals and two assists each for the Hens. Sophomore Debbie Sloan and freshman Nicole Flego had three goals each, senior Katie Muth had two goals and one assist and freshman Emily Schaknowski had three assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had six saves.

UD Head Coach Kim Ciarrocca announced prior to the game that senior co-captain Stephanie McQuade will be out for the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
