UD women’s lacrosse defeats Davidson, 11-3

UD goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny allowed just three goals in the victory over Davidson.

9:33 a.m., March 26, 2007--The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team won its second straight game Friday afternoon, March 23, as the Fightin' Blue Hens defeated Davidson College 11-3 at Rullo Stadium. That followed a 15-8 victory over St. Bonaventure on Wednesday.

UD is now 3-3 and the Hens will return to action with a game against Virginia Tech at 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, at Rullo Stadium. The Hokies are 4-7 and have lost four straight games.

Against Davidson, UD goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had seven saves and did not allow a goal over the final 36 minutes of the game, including the entire second half. It was the first time the Hens had shut out an opponent for a half since 2002.

UD's Casey McCrudden scored four goals and earned the 14th hat trick of her career. Nicole Flego and Katie Muth and two goals each, with Flego also getting two assists. Also scoring were Debbie Sloan, Courtney Aburn and Amanda Jones.
