UD women’s lacrosse defeats St. Bonaventure

Casey McCrudden scored six goals in the victory over St. Bonaventure.

8:47 a.m., March 22, 2007--With junior attack Casey McCrudden scoring six goals, the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team defeated St. Bonaventure University 15-8 in a game played Wednesday afternoon at Rullo Stadium.

The Fightin' Blue Hens, who took a 10-5 lead into halftime, are now 2-3 on the season. UD will return to action with a home game against Davidson College at 3 p.m., Friday, March 23.

McCrudden's six goals were the most scored by a UD player since Corinne Shuck scored six times against Ohio State University in 2002. McCrudden also broke her previous career high of five goals.

In addition to McCrudden, four Hens had two goals each. They were attacks Debbie Sloan and Nicole Flego and midfielders Emily Schaknowski, who also had a pair of assists, and Katie Muth. Midfielder Amanda Jones also scored. UD goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had four saves.
