UD women’s lacrosse falls to Pennsylvania

UD’s Debbie Sloan scored twice in the loss to Penn.

8:25 a.m., March 15, 2007--The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team fell 13-6 to the No. 17 University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday night at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

With the loss, the Fightin' Blue Hens fell to 1-3. The will return to action with their home opener against St. Bonaventure University at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, at Rullo Stadium. The Hens will remain at home for games against Davidson College on March 23, Virginia Tech on March 27 and Towson University on April 1.

Against Penn, UD sophomore Debbie Sloan scored two goals and Nicole Flego, Emily Schaknowski, Amanda Alrich and Courtney Aburn scored one each. Goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had nine saves.
