UD women’s lacrosse defeats UMBC, 16-5

UD’s Casey McCrudden had three goals in the victory over UMBC.

8:54 a.m., March 12, 2007--The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team defeated the host University of Maryland Baltimore County 16-5 in a game played Friday afternoon.

It was the first victory of the season for the 1-2 Fightin' Blue Hens, who will travel to the University of Pennsylvania for a game at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 14.

Against UMBC, the Hens got three goals each from Casey McCrudden and Debbie Sloan. Both players also had assists.

Scoring two goals each for the Hens were Emily Schaknowski, Katie Muth, Nicole Flego and Courtney Aburn. Also finding the net were Amanda Jones and Alexis Curcio. Goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had five saves.
