Maryland blanks Hens in men’s tennis match
8:04 a.m., March 12, 2007--The University of Delaware men's tennis team fell to the host University of Maryland 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Tennis Center at College Park. Maryland's Nicholas Frayssinoux defeated UD freshman Austin Longacre 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Andrew Orban defeated Nolan Greenberg 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 and Scott Fink defeated Matthew Liebman 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. Maryland's Nickolai Nielsen defeated freshman Sam Barrer 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4, Louis-Xavier Lavallee defeated Jon Schwartz 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5, and Michael Coleman defeated freshman Camilo Perez 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6. In doubles play, Boris Fetbroyt and David Kwan edged Andrew Blumberg and Longacre 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, while Frayssinoux and Orban defeated Greenberg and Jason Hanschmann 8-2 at No. 2. Fink and Lavellee completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win over Perez and Liebman at No. 3. The Fightin' Blue Hens will return to action Friday, March 23, at the Florida Institute of Technology. |
