Hall scores three goals in men’s lacrosse win

UD’s Jordan Hall had three goals in the victory over Rutgers.

9:29 a.m., March 5, 2007--Senior All-America Jordan Hall scored three goals to lead the No. 15 University of Delaware men's lacrosse team to a 7-5 victory over Rutgers University in a nonconference game played Saturday afternoon at Rullo Stadium.

With the victory, the Fightin' Blue Hens improved to 4-0 as they prepare to travel to Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Md., for a game at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 6. It will be the season opener for Mount St. Mary's, which has reached the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship game each of the last two seasons.

That game will be followed by two major challenges, as the Hens will travel to the State University of New York at Albany for a game at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 10, then will return home to face Georgetown University at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, at Rullo Stadium. Albany (2-0) was ranked No. 7 in last week's U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll, while Georgetown (2-0) was ranked No. 1 after its season opening 8-6 victory over the University of Maryland.

In the victory over Rutgers (1-1), the Hens jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter and took a 5-2 lead into the half. They extended the lead to 7-3 after three quarters before the Scarlet Knights mounted a late challenge.

In addition to Hall, UD goals were scored by Adam Zuder-Havens, Dan Deckelbaum, Kevin Kaminski and Alex Moeckel. Face-off specialist Alex Smith won 14 of 16 draws and picked up eight ground balls and goalkeeper Tommy Scherr had nine saves.
