8:37 a.m., March 28, 2007--Temple University defeated the University of Delaware 18-7 in the opening round of the Liberty Bell Classic collegiate baseball tournament on Tuesday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium.

The Fightin' Blue Hens were ahead 5-3 through five innings but Temple exploded for six runs in teach of the sixth and seventh innings for the win.

Starting pitcher Todd Ozog (0-3) suffered the loss. UD catcher Ryan Engelhardt had two hits, including a home run, and shortstop Alex Buchholz had a double and a triple. The Hens committed five errors.

With the loss, UD is 4-13 on the season. The Hens will take on Delaware State University at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, at Bob Hannah Stadium before a weekend road trip to face Georgia State University in a Colonial Athletic Association series.
