10 UD rowers selected national scholar-athletes
Senior Laura Beaufort was one of 10 UD scholar-athletes honored by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
10:31 a.m., June 12, 2007--Ten members of the University of Delaware women's rowing team have been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association national scholar-athlete team.

They are seniors Laura Beaufort, Maria Bellumori, Lynn Hamski, Kenna Plangemann and Betsy Seeger; juniors Cami Off and Justine Strausser; and sophomores Katie Gooding, Nicolette Lotrionte and Lana Rivers. Beaufort, Plangemann and Strausser were selected to the team for the second straight year.

Beaufort, who served as a team co-captain, is a political science and history major with a 3.63 grade point average; Bellumori is a fitness management major with a 3.82 GPA; Hamski is an elementary education major with a 3.84 GPA; Plangemann is a political science and history major with a 3.65 GPA and Seeger is a hotel, restaurant and institutional management major with a 3.82 GPA.

Off is an English major with a 3.75 GPA and Strausser is a biological sciences major with a 3.65 GPA. Gooding is a biological sciences major with a 3.61 GPA, Lotrionte is a political science major with a 3.69 GPA and Rivers is a biological sciences major with a 3.71 GPA.

Off, the coxswain, joined Hamski, Gooding, Rivers, Bellumori, Strausser and Lotrionte as members of UD's second varsity eights boat that finished second at the Colonial Athletic Association championships and fifth in the semifinals at the Dad Vail Regatta.

Plangemann, the coxswain, and Beaufort were members of the varsity eights crew that finished third at the CAA championships, sixth at the ECAC Metro Championships, and fourth in the repechage at the Dad Vail Regatta.

Seeger, who earlier this year received the UD Student Services for Athletes Outstanding Contributor Award, was a member of the varsity fours crew that finished fourth at the CAA championships and fourth in its heat the Dad Vail Regatta.
