UD women’s soccer falls to Howard in OT

UD’s Alli D’Amico
11:56 a.m., Oct. 6, 2004--The University of Delaware women’s soccer team fell 2-1 in overtime to Howard University in a game played Tuesday in Washington, D.C.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens scored first when freshman Alli D'Amico found the net off a pass from junior Liz Friedman. D'Amico's goal was her third of the season and came in the 24th minute of the game.

Howard evened the match at 1-1 just 14 minutes into the second half as Alyssa Fortune scored off passes from Michelle Williston and Raneika Bean.

Bean ended things just eight minutes into the first overtime as she scored unassisted.

UD sophomore goalkeeper Bonnie Mills made her second straight start and stopped six shots.

The Hens, who fell to 6-4-3, will return to action at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, when they play Virginia Commonwealth University in a Colonial Athletic Association match at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.
