Meany runs to victory at Delaware Invitational
The University of Pennsylvania won both the mens and the womens races, and UD finished second in both events. Meany covered the eight-kilometer course in 26:10.40 to win by more than 31 seconds. The individual victory was the fourth of his UD career. In addition to Meany, UDs Brad Dodson finished fourth, Sam MacKenzie seventh, Kyle Schmid eighth, Tyler Mayforth 11th, Ryan Ward 12th, Kevin DuPrey 15th, Mike Hazeltine 17th, Matt Bryden 19th and Jeremy Lambert 20th. Hofstra Universitys Mary Sullivan won the womens five-kilometer race with a course record 18:22.10, edging Penns Stacy Kim (18:30.7) and Claire Kim (18:33.6). UD sophomore Colleen OBrien finished fourth in a time of 18:42.8. In addition to OBrien, UD freshman Julia Somers finished eighth, freshman Jessica Leitsch 11th and Sari Weissbard 16th.
