Temple tops Delaware in women’s tennis

9:30 a.m., Oct. 19, 2005--The Temple University women’s tennis team won all six singles matches to defeat the University of Delaware 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Delaware Tennis Courts.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens took the doubles point as Susan Pollack and Amanda Campbell defeated Ana Maslesa and Yuri Kurashima 8-6 at No. 1 while Sari Shuster and Liz Perlow defeated Laura Seiverling and Sharanya Pattabi 8-6 at No. 3. Temple won No. 2 doubles as Jennifer Goeta and Felicia Frazier defeated Alexa Dragonette and Julie Schiller 8-5.

In singles, Temple’s Maslesa defeated Pollack at No. 1, Kurashima defeated Campbell at No. 2 and Goeta defeated Perlow at No. 3.

Seiverling defeated UD’s Shuster at No. 4, while Pattabi edged Dragonette at No. 5 and Frazier defeated Kate Iannelli at No. 6.

UD will play its final match of the fall season at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, at LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
